The story

When the clock strikes midnight, a train of warm gold light pulls up at the bottom of the garden. Aboard the Starbright Express, the crew tend the route between the constellations, and each night something small needs setting right before the dawn platform. A child with a ticket climbs aboard to help. Each chapter is one journey.

First chapter

You reached the edge of the wood just as the sun began to dip below the sky. The leaves stirred slowly in a soft wind, and the smell of damp earth hung in the air. Somewhere between the trees came a low rustling, as if someone were running across dry leaves.

“Welcome to the Hollow,” said a low voice beside you. It was Fenn the fox, his eyes bright and curious. “I’ve been waiting for you. Heron says there’s a task waiting for us today.”

You looked around. Everything seemed still — but something was off. One small bird flew in circles above an old tree, as if searching for something. Or perhaps for someone.

This sample is just an illustration. Every chapter is written automatically at your child’s reading level, shaped by what they choose to happen next.
